Here I am

I have been missing in action for way to long and that indeed needs to change STAT! This past year had been full of ups and downs and I finally feel like things are starting to progress in the right direction…yay! So many big changes in the works right now, I m feeling a GREAT year ahead! Stoked and a little scared. Bring it on….

If there’s one thing that’s been consistent in my life the past several years its working out. Life is pretty sneaky sometimes but I’ve learned to get up and sweat my ass off. It amazes me how a little bit of metabolic conditioning mixed with some positive thinking can change your whole demnor, productivity and overall state of happiness!

Happy Monday!
For those of you that don’t know me, my name is Cassandra and I’m a personal trainer in the downtown phoenix area. I’ve been training for about 2 years and i LOVE it! About 6 years ago I was completely lost in life; I was depressed and physically sick not to mention about 160 pounds. (not exactly healthy for my 5’3 frame) I was working and going to school completely unsure of myself. Over the next 3 years my weight went up and down in completely unhealthy ways. It wasn’t until a breakdown after a friend’s death about 3 years ago that lead me to seek help. Over the next year I really started to see things clearly and I started educating myself on living a healthy life. I felt better than I ever had mentally and physically, I was stronger and more driven and I decided to go back to school to become a personal trainer! I really wanted to help others that have faced what I have faced. I’m very happy with where my life has taken me, but with any addiction it’s something that you have to deal with every day. There are great days! and others days where we make it by…but we gotta just keep moving on.
This blog is me going through life, striving to live a healthy life physically and mentally and hopefully helping a few others along the way!

Fitness isn’t about a crunch or a push-up: It’s about taking your power back – Jillian Michaels nails that quote! That said there is a reason I push my clients so hard and it’s not for joy of making them sweat or grunt or make a full of themselves. Honestly it’s so far from that! I want my clients to realize what they are capable of, because it sure is a lot more then they think! In fact chances are it’s not laziness that got them out of shape in the first place, its fear or weakness mentally….and that has to change pronto! Fitness is a great tool or prescription to help recover from a lifestyle that has gotten way to comfortable. That is comfortable and depressing, and empty, and slowly killing us! I was caught in this trap before and in fact I still deal with it on a daily basis. Time-it takes time, day by day you have to be strong and you will see and FEEL the changes! I believe really pushing yourself, letting yourself out of that comfort zone is an essential part of the process. Breaking down the exterior and figuring out what you really want, be selfish, figure out what is going to fulfill you so then you in return can be successful in all parts of your life!
